I have a evga 8800 super clocked gt waiting too be pluged in but my psu is only 300 watts. my evga is a Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amp Amps.) Im almost 100% that i should not buy a minimum psu so i wont be using 100% of its power the whole time. what should be enough Watts/amp on 12v for my cpu? thnks

A quality 400-450W PSU will do the trick... it might even be able to handle an extra card!

Antec PSU with 3 12v rails 2@22A 1@25A so I'm thinking that combined they'll cover your 26A. Use code EMCAHABCJ during checkout and the total will be $49.99 w/ free shipping

The 26A they're talking about is for the whole system not just one rail.

Bam!

Easily the best for the money. Why? Glad you asked:
1- 5-year warranty
2- 33amps on the +12v rail
3- 450watts
4- 80% + efficiency = less heat
http://www.corsairmemory.com/products/vx.aspx
5- long braided cables

6- much more attractive finish than the Antec Earthwatts

7- I've had one for over a year and it's been rock solid

Any Corsair series model will do the trick (or a decent 450Watt+ PSU). The 8800GT is a G92 core after all and a relatively low power model.

BTW I have a Corsair HX620Watt for a rebuild and its ****** beautiful... I prefer modular PSUs myself for the neatness though!! :sol:

get extreme power plus 460w coolermaster, really has gud value for money. but corsair 450vx is better no doubt, but its a lil extra cash. i m running a q6600 @2.9ghz and a xfx 8800gt 512 mb for nearly a month.

A whole month... must be good then!!

Ah but not really:

it's on Tier 5... Reviews also indicate it is in reality 420 Watts max. (according to the rail wattage label on the side of the PSU)!! :non:
