While my current desktop pc is old, I still play games on it (Battlefield 2, Counter Strike).

Anyway, problem with my old computer is that it only has 40gb of storage on it.

My question is: Is there anyway to use a laptop and share its storage with another pc? Like could I somehow make it an external hard drive so I could load games onto it but still be able to play on my "gaming" computer?

This question may be completely stupid, but im just wondering.

Of course. All you need to do is to buy a case for 2.5 or 1.8 hdd and connect it to your pc. I guess much more effiecent and cheaper would be buying 500gb 3.5 hdd and put it in your pc. samsung f3 is the best option. And throw your 40gb drive into garbige! It's slow and worth nothing.
