Hi i would like to overclock my q9550 to 3.6 ghz because my gtx 295 is bottlenecking that cpu i think :S
heres my computer specs:
asus gtx 295
gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3R
yorkfield q9550
antec nine hundred
750w coolermaster
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 1333mhz ddr3 9-9-9-24 1.7V
OS: vista 64bit home premium

I'm new to overclocking, ive seen a good guide to overclock under my own bios, please if you have time, change the following information to what i would need, thank you very much.

Motherboard Voltage Control
Voltage Type.………... Manual
CPU
CPU Vcore….……….........................: All up to your chip. Keep in mind what you set here is not what you get in windows (You can check the difference with CPU-z, but it is also not always the same and may vary at different volt ranges)...... I see some do 3.6+ on 1.24 or Less Actual, some need 1.25-1.3 or more. So set high enough for sure to boot then you can lower later

How about you do a little more research and try learning how to overclock yourself.

You can't just tell someone all the settings they will need, every chip,mb,ram is different.

Then, if you get stuck come back and ask a question. Thank you very much.

Easy Tune6 can be used to change those values, but from windows.
Se the changes before and after using Easy Tune6. Start slow...but you could be there in a rather fast time, like 10 minutes, tjeck temps, a lot!
Should be on your drivers disk. Works for 64bit too.
As JRJ wrote, research is the thing.
I got my q9450 from 2.666 to 3.666 with Easy Tune6, stable.
I too, dont know much about OC, but this non-value -can start many things, like research.
Happy days
