Hello all,

I ran across this forum and thought you all may want to have a look. The specs of the system are similar to the one in the review done at tweaktown (of the GTX280), and I will post that link to. You can compare the vantage and 3Dmark06 scores if you like. They are a pretty close comparison system wise (other than the video cards of course), but I am not a huge advocate of 3Dmark score as it is. But here it is none the less.

Nice. I am concerned with the cooling, though. I don't like the single slot cooler at all, otherwise I'd buy the 4850 in a heartbeat. I suppose the 3850 cooler may fit, but I guess I'll use this as an excuse to buy the 4870.

Yea I dislike single slot coolers as well (Actually I will not purchase cards that use them if I dont have an after market cooler to replace it). Just doin some small math I got the 280 being somewhere around 37% faster in 3Dmark overall (between 06 and vantage), but those mean very little to me as said before, but it was out only comparison. I am unsure how much faster the 4870 is suppose to be over the 4850, but i have heard 20 - 25% (among other numbers as well). If that is the case and these numbers hold true in real game benchmarks...the I know what I will be getting. Cant wait for next week!
