Rampage Formula checksum error.

Hey guys,

Power plug was pulled by mistake from the socket and when I restarted my system I got a BIOS checksum error, seems like the BIOS got corrupted for some reason. I just hope my hard drives did not get messed up and that I can start up windows once I fix this and not get that idiotic hardware change issue.

So any tips on what to do next? thanks!

Manually reset the BIOS, usually shorting CMOS clear pins on the mobo. Consult you manual for the exact procedure.

Hey Zorg, thanks for the reply.

My MoBo has a reset CMOS button, but that did nothing. Will have to take the battery out and wait for 10 seconds I guess, but will probably try to recover the bios using the utlity

You may need to take out the battery for 5-10 minutes.
