Two Questions about this card:

Galaxy GeForce 8600GT (Low Profile) Chipset (540Mhz) 256MB DDR3 (1400Mhz)

1. Would this low profile card be able to run World of Warcraft at 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor at full graphics on?

2. Would this card fit into an IBM Lenovo Thinkcentre M55 small form factor case?

No to either of these questions would mean an entire system build for me which would cost me about $900 more than what this solution with a new gaming kb/mouse would cost.

1. Highly unlikely. You'll most likely need to play it in a window or full screen at lower resolution with AA turned off.

2. Yes.

That actually looks like a good solution for WOW in a slimline case, but frankly i'm not sure of the measurements, you'd probably have to open your case and check it for length and width. 1920x1200 would really be pushing it for this card with everything turned up high, but it's the best low profile card i've seen.

No, at any rate get new, your current machine is not worthy.

Sorry

I got a 8600GT too, and while I do not play WOW, I got about 60fps at Counter Strike Source at 1920x1200, though with not all highest settings.

You probably wont be able to turn all option at max, but 1920x1200 should run fine, if you are not limited by your processor and Ram.

If you want a better card, you could also just change the case instead of changing the whole system. For example a 9600GT and a decent case would cost you about 200$.

Well, I've played WoW on my 8600GT 256MB DDR3 at 1680x1050 at max everything and never dropped below 100 FPS. 1920x1200 may be a different story, but it's hardly a demanding game.
