I think i am going to try to overclock my Q9450 but i need your help. I know their are threads here but i would like 1 on 1 help. Im scared that my cpu would be damaged but i would really want to try ocing.

My specs:

Intel Q9450 2.66Ghz
EVGA 780i
OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 CL 4-4-4-15
EVGA 8800GT SC

I heard that it easy to get to 3.2ghz and im using stock fan. What is the highest ghz until i need a new fan?

1: Read the OCing guide
2: Read it again and take notes
3: search for the things you don't understand
4: Read the guide again
5: Download CPU-Z, coretemp, OCCT or Prime95, memtest
6: BUY an aftermarket heatsink
7: Download the Intel Data Sheet for your processor so you KNOW the max voltages that Intel recommends so you don't fry anything.
8: Read the guide again and start OCing. Have FUN.

It crashes for a reason, now you just have to find out why.

Start low, change one setting at a time, Test, Monitor Temps...............again and again

That's called OverClocking.
