Upgrade help please

I play counter strike 1.6 and condition zero and source.

My setup is as follows:
Athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.0 GHz Processor
EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E 2.0 Graphics Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB Hard Drive
ASUS M2N-E AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Memory

I get good solid 100 FPS most of the time but its not quite as stable as id like. Also my ping could be improved in my opinion. What upgrades could fix these two issues?

Would a faster memory help?

its not stable as you would like because that 8x has a gimpy 112 steam processors whereas GTX has 128.
