Cd/dvd driver not found

I am trying to install windows vista on my desktop after removing a virus and it wiping my HD, i get to the install screen anbd when i select install in promps me with.
The cd/dvd device driver is missing

Are you selecting 'clean install' which does a format of the HDD as 1st step ?
