Acer aspire wont boot from cd

hey, Hey, I have an Acer aspire desktop PC and I cant boot from CD/DVD even if I set the first boot device as cd rom in the bios, or even select the boot option (F12).
what could be the course of this as I also tried to load default BIOS.
