My motherboard only supports AGP cards, there are 2 choices to choose from, the ATI 9800Pro or the 7300GT
I'm a real noob at graphic cards so I just want to know which one is a better card.
I've heard that the 9800Pro is really good but it has been released for like 5 years...while the 7300GT is newer and looks more promising, but it's called a low-end card by others...

The 9800Pro has 128MB cache and 256bit bus,380MHz core speed,700MHz memory speed
while the 7300GT has 256MB cache and 128bit bus,400MHz core speed,667MHz memory speed

I have no idea what they are,so can anyone help me on this?
My main purpose is to play The Sims 2 smoothly with the high graphic setting.
Please answer me quickly as I have to make decision very soon,it's an auction.
And please dont recommend anything else to me,I only want to know about these two.

Ok the 7300GT is a re badged Geforce 6600, which was around the same mark as the FX5800 which took on the 9700 and 9800 ATI back in the day, performance wise there about equal, but my preference, id take the 7300GT as its a slightly newer architecture and prolly has better driver support etc today, regardless of the specs, the architecture is better too.

Give you an example as to performance comparison, the 7300 has 8 rendering pipelines, vs a 7900GT's 24 which is similar performance wise to an 8600GT, all those cards i listed are poor gaming cards todays for standards, and anything with an agp fit today is low end - P4/Celeron D, AMD(939) etc - dont spend too much upgrading an old system.

If your coming from integrated video, FX5200 or ATi 9550, 9600 etc then the 7300 is a decent jump but still wont allow you to play the latest games sufficently.

+1 for 7300 but... I doubt it can play Sims 2 at the highest settings.
I don't know how much they are but, just for the reference, the fastest AGP card out there (hd3850) can be found for around 150$ on newegg.

Thanks for the advise,I think I will take the 7300,you seem to read my mind that I have an FX5200 card now,I dont usually play games on PC though.
I'm getting a new graphic card since my 5200 is almost dead, with screen flashing and stuff,so i need a replacement quickly.
I wont spend much on my PC as I will never play newer games like Mass Effect.
Thanks anyway for the info:)
