i have a window vista i brought a sony dru-830a dvd burner dont know how to install can you help me i went to device manger theres 4 ide channels installed can i take the drive that came with the comuter and replace it with the dvd burner

yes, just make sure the jumper is set the same as the drive you are replacing.
