Ok i am on a budget so if you do recommend a better part that i will link dont link a very expensive one. I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT A COMPUTER TOGETHER, BUT I DONT KNOW WHETHER ALL THESE PARTS WILL WORK WITH EACH OTHER AND BE COMPATIBLE AND RUN STABLE AND GOOD.So please tell me if my parts dont go together or if there would be any problem. Should i get windows vista home basic or get xp? im deciding on what OS to get... i dont care about features... dx10 would be a nice feature though but id rather have performance over dx 10.

I already got the 8800 gt and a Monitor... am i missing anything? Also Would 3 gigs of ram give me problems since its not running in dual channel mode or something?... not sure what this mean or why it would cause a problem but i seen this before. Thanks

Awesome graphics card pick! XFX is the best, I have the exact same card. Go Q6600, and get a GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. Both are about the same price. Get Vista Home Premium from Newegg. It runs about $100 which is totally worth it, game performance is exactly the same, just get at least 2GB.

you think i should get a q6600? the 3.0 dual core is better atm because games dont really take advantage of 4 cores... and like i said im on a budget so i cant spend like over 650... all that cost $615.

You wouldn't be able to run 3 x 1gb in dual channel. If you bought 2 x1 gb and 2 x512mb, then you should be able to run dual channel.

I'd stay with the wolfdale proc if this is for gaming. Get a 2x2gb DDR2 800 kit like the one mexpedip suggested.

but the 3gb is 1066 mhz.. is there any difference between 800 and 1066 or no? and is the other parts i linked good, like its all compatible and would work together?

ok i took out the 3 gigs of 1066 ram and got the mem linked above... could my mobo support 800 mhz ram though?
