I'm wondering whether or not I should get a single 4870 or two of them in Crossfire? I'd be willing to take two but I'm worried I'm still going to experience the non-scaling and micro-stuttering issues, why don't they go about fixing that already?
Is it even worth it to use Crossfire, does it scale better than SLI?

The rest of the system is gonna be:

MBO GIGABYTE GA-X48-DQ6, iX48 + ICH9R, DDR2, snd., S-ATA, PCI-E, Cross, G-Lan, s. 775

Well crossfire scales pretty well in most of the popular games...

They aren't released yet but from things ive seen... im pretty confident that they are guaranteed to beat out the GTX280. Should be by a lot if they scale well!

750watt should be fine, they wont run very hot or use much power :)

On the other hand of coarse a single one of these should beat even a 9800GTX so.. you may only need one unless you are playing at a higher resolution.

Exile- Kreia what are you Jedi or Sith?

Kreia- Does it matter? Of course it does; such titles allow us to rip the galaxy into two halves: light and dark, good and bad. Perhaps I am neither, and I hold both as what they really are: pieces to a puzzle.

Get one, and if you feel like you need the second you can get it later.

There are good indications that this card is going to be a great card for price/performance. The 4850 looks like a great card in it's own right:

I have a Gigabyte DS3L, :??: with only one PCI-E x16 slot, I'm going to probably get a 4850 and later if its still going strong get a new board and another card, if that makes sense...maybe. What I really want is a 4850 x2, but I'm not sure if that'll happen. If so, do you think the card would be limited by the PCI-E 1.0? Is P45 PCI-E 2.0?
