I was wondering is this a good gaming card for just MMO gaming, seeing as it nearly sums up to a normal 8600GT, Im not looking for anything spiffy cranked up graphics like Crysis. Just games like age of conan,Tabula rasa, and WoW(maybe others).

How well Does this card perform in gaming (directx 9) and shaders at like 3.0, mainly resolution 1024x768.

Also How does it go against its counterparts that new egg sells.

the 512mb GDDR2 Ones? even tho their Memory clock is nearly half of what a Fullsized video card is.

Edit: MY System specs are

2 Gigabytes of Ram
3400+ Amd Sempron ---- I have a Amd 4600+ x2 coming from newegg.
and a 6150le, Going to replace with a newer graphic card later on

8600gt will run WoW very well, but definately not enough for Age of Conan, and likely not Tabula rasa. The graphics difference between WoW and Age of Conan is quite large.

Actually, my 8600GT 256MB DRRR3 runs Age of Conan at 30+ fps with a resolution of 1680x1050 and medium settings. In comparison, my over-clocked 2900XT runs at 7-14 FPS no matter what settings it's at. Age of Conan doesn't really have a "demanding" graphics engine, or one that's particularly advanced or pretty. It's just sloppily programmed and buggy garbage. I've seen people run on anything between 6600GT's and a 3870x2's, and there's really no rhyme nor reason why a lot of people have major issues with FPS and others do not. Generally speaking, however, it tends to have more issues with ATI cards than Nvidias.

8600 GT will do just fine in WoW, even at max settings as it's a very optimized game engine. I'm not familiar with Tabula Rasa.

However, it's hard to suggest an 8600GT these days, especially one with DDR2. The DDR2 models have a small performance hit that comes with them. My 8600GT has served me well, but it is no longer among the best price/performance ratio cards out there. An 8600GT DDR2 512MB is probably the best low profile card you can find, however.. so if that's your requirement, go for it. Otherwise, an 8800GT or 9600GT or an upcoming 4850/4870 will provide the best bang for the buck.

About that, The Two Cards are Oddly Different from each other.

Seeing as The Galaxy 8600GT Included 256MB of GDDR3, 540/1400mhz

and the PNY/Chain Tech from newegg include 512mb of GDDR2, 540/800mhz

Which would be better, at least for gaming until they release the 9600GT "blade"

I dont think i can fit a 8800GT,or 9600GT.i heard they're huge. Unless its rather long than big(sorry i cant find the perfect set of words for this)
