Windows 7 and Bitlocker

Double clicking drives in explorer no longer opens bit locker dialog. So, I created a bit locker control panel link on my desktop from which to unlock drives. Does anyone know why this happened? One day it worked, next day I get a message when I click on a bitlocker encrypted drive "(Drive Letter):\ is not accessible. Access is denied."
