GTX280's starting to lower price / new prices

just wanted to know why evga aint doing discounts i find that odd.

Only a $10 discount, hardly noticeable in a $650 card. Maybe they are selling as many as they can box and see no need to discount them.


I am surprised to see some rebates already though.

and the fact evga is a well respected brand and offers lifetime warrenty and step up even tho many arent aware bfg offers similar extras but has a 100day step up even better.

evga is doing a 120 day step up for the gt200's iv heard.

I cannot imagine that this card will sell as well as G92 8800GT did.

I'm sure we will see a massive drop in prices from all Nvidia cards in the coming weeks maybe a month to allow these cards to be more appealing. However I've read that this card is very inexpensive to manufacture... so any cut will be a huge hindrance to Nvidia.

But then again, this card and its positioning in the market is completely different to the 8800GT when that was released - it isn't a like for like comparison.

It is hugely expensive to manufacture.
