Keyboard typing typing wrong & multiple letters

Hi

This afternoon out of the blue my laptop keyboard started typing wrong/ multiple letters (having to use on-screen ease of access keyboard to type this) here's an example of some of them;
A - turning caps lock on
Enter - #;
E - EDC
G - RGF
H - YHN
Y - YHN
L - L.
K - KM,
W - WSX
R - RGF
S - WSX
D - EDC

I've tried rebooting and holding down the Fn key I've also checked to make sure the Ctrl/ Alt keys aren't stuck. I'm using vista and its a Acer Aspire 5410.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

If the unit is OOW, then the first thing I'd do is remove it and reseat the ribbon cable. If that doesn't work, then you're looking at replacing the keyboard, so if it's under warranty then it's time to make a claim, otherwise you can check used parts vendors to see what you can find.
