Cut option does not remove original file

on one of my users pc's using XP SP3 and Office 2003 SP3 whenever he tries to cut and paste a file from a certain directory into a new email the process works fine apart from the fact that the original file that was cut is not removed from original location.

I have rebooted PC updated both O/s and office SP's with no succes

Can anyone help?

Yep, you are not actually "Cutting" a file into the email. If you do a Cut and Paste on the file system, from one folder to another, the original file will go poof. If you want to delete a file after moving it to an email to send, delete the file manually.
