Hi there!

I'm having the following problem:

I was trying to bring together two pc's with a kvm-switch (DVI / USB). It didn't work out because of the keyboard (DELL multimedia-keyboard, with cord) with an integrated usb-hub. I got on both pc's (WinXP Pro) an error that the power consumption would be to high.

I took the keyboard apart and discovered a big circuit board and a smaller one with two usb-ports on it. I cut of the smaller board, but that didn't solve my problem, the hub seems to be integrated on the big board. Now I am thinking if I could just add a 5V power supply to the whoe thing.

Unfortunately, I do not have any experience in messing with usb-stuff. Could anyone help?

TIA
Alex

PS: If anyone should be interested, I could upload some photos of the circuit boards.
