Hi all. I have an opportunity to pick up a year-old 30PW850H at a
quite respectable price (under $400). I was wondering if any of you
expert hands could offer me some prespectives - is this a good unit?
I've heard some mixed messages about Philps' reliabilty in recent
years. Feature set is pretty good, other than the lack of an HDMI
interface. Generally, the buzz on this model is pretty good - but some
first hand opinions would really help me feel better about it, and I
have to commit quickly if I want it. Thanks in advance.

Are you going for the refurb deal?

I would defintely get an extended warranty.
Im sure youve seen the reviews at Amazon.

I have a philips HDTV but not this model. I recall some models had
really horrible reviews about reliability and some didnt. I think this
was one of them.

A used one, not a refurb actually. Seen the Amazon reviews, and
they're pretty good. But a couple people did have reliability issues,
and the HDMI thing worries me.
