Well did you forget a few things? DVD Drive, OS ext.

If you didnt, here is what I would change from Those parts.

The case. Here are a few good choices for your budget.
COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 RC-590-KKN1-GP Black SECC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119152&Tpk=590
or
Thermaltake M9 VI1000BWS Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133058

Also, I would take a look at the new generations HDD's from Seagate. The 7200.10's were great drives, but the .11 Series is out and performes even better.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=7200.11
Everything else looks good.!

Avoid that 9800GTX like a flesh eating virus....the Radeon 4870 is ten days away ...and it beats the liquid potty out of the 9800GTsuX. Get that instead.

Instead of two 7200.10 250GB drives for $120, why not get a single 500GB Seagate 7200.11 for $85...

Swell deal for PSU though...nice choice of CPU too.

Though i'm not impressed by Nvidia boards or SLI performance. What with the huge performance of Radeon 4870 for a splendid price of $320, you should get an X38 board which performs better than any Nvidia board and gives you Crossfire opportunities which beat the price/performance ratio of SLI to pulp.

Here's updated cart.

http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/AddToCart.aspx?Submit=Add&itemList=N82E16822148262%7c1%2cN82E16820231145%7c1%2cN82E16819115017%7c1%2cN82E16817139006%7c1%2cN82E16813188026%7c1%2cN82E16814130339%7c1%2cN82E16811166004%7c1%2cN82E16817114182%7c1%2cN82E16827136144%7c1

The only reason I chose the 9800gtx was to use evga's stepup program to get a gtx 260/280. Not like it's a horrible card check out the benchmarks. I looked into the radeon 4870's and they look pretty nice, post proof as to why they would beat a gtx 260/280? Check this out: http://www.nordichardware.com/news,7809.html

OS is np i get them from school for free.

don't really see the justification in a more expensive hdd

keeping my case I want the full tower for plenty of room in the future

added dvd drive lol

Since you've seen the benchmarks you should know that the 9800GTX is just an overclocked 8800GTS but costing $120 more.

don't really see the justification in a more expensive hdd

huh?

yea the 9800gtx is very similar to a 8800gts but it runs a lot cooler... and as I already stated I intend to stepup to the next gen card in the next couple months

it's basically free compared to the 8800gts since i'll be stepping up to the new card with evga stepup.

@suicide thanks for the lead on hard drive, i found a good deal on a .11 for only $5 more.

Wait so u r getting an 9800GTX to then get rid of it in the next week or two.....that just makes no sense to me...plus the step-up is a gimmick of course cause if u wait getting the card off newegg will be cheaper. They want u to upgrade to pocket more money.

If you can wait do so....between the GTX 2xx and 4xxx just wait and see who wins....i believe at the looks of it it will be the GTX. The 4xxx is supposedly going to compete with the 9800s (say wha!!!! :??: )

You have to think of it.....when u buy off Newegg its cheaper...rebates, lower costs ect.
Like me....I got the 8800GT for $290 and then a week later the GTS came out...so i was like ok....ill upgrade eventually. Now the GTS is $370+ off their site so that would be paying an extra $80, but to just buy the GTS now is $220. They get some extra cash through the step up.

No...Nehalem comes everything changes....

You can wait, (like myself) because I believe its not going to be a "clean" transition. There will be bugs, problems and above all cost....its not going to be something cheap and its not rly practical/needed cause atm games only use 2 threads. So it will take awhile for it to gain ground....

Then Westmere will come which is the 32nm shrink....things will be more set

As for the GPU, the GTX 2xx is due out in the next 2 weeks (if Nvidia keeps its word) so if u can just wait....i mean do u need this thing ASAP?

Don't really need it asap but on I think i'll probably be plenty happy with the 8800gts. I dont think i'd buy a gtx 2xx at first anyway. I'll get this system and wait 6-9 months and upgrade if i feel its necessary but I may just save the money for gasoline @_@.

I don't think it makes too much sense for me, from a financial standpoint to spend that much so soon for a brand new card (gtx 2xx) as opposed to waiting for the price to go down. I just want to play AoC and a little crysis on decent settings, without ruling out too many options as far as future upgrades in the future. I appreciate everyone's feedback :).
