All my talking about HTPC's on watch has gotten him wanting a new PC when we get back. So I am pricing one out for him under 1500 which is easy. Anyhow is there anything I can upgrade to get better overall performance. Would it be wise to just get a Q6600 now, even thought its not supported by Games yet? Or just stick with my processor below. Anyhow let me know what you think thanks!

Also with the new ATI coming out. We are going to wait and see what he benchmarks are and go from there. But as for now this is what we are shooting for.

what MoBo are you going to be using?

Would stay with the E8400 cpu. Also if you are going to wait until the new ATI graphic cards are out you might want to reconsider your mobo selction.

Below are 2 alternate mobo's you should consider depending on which graphic card you will be going with.

nVidia graphic card mobo
EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i FTW SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $189.99

IMHO the 750i is better then the 680i you have picked at the same price and both graphic pci-eslots run at full 16x speed.

ATI & nVidia
ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $179.99 ($129.99 after $50.00 Mail-In)

What size Psu & OS will you be using in this build. Since you did not post any thing on these items.

I'd also suggest the Antec Twelve Hundred (if the 900 appeals to you).

I have the 900 and love it, but hear the 1200 is even better. It's cheaper at microcenter now: http://www.microcenter.com/single_ [...] id=0288150

Most of the choices seem good - I like the HD and the CPU (have them both).

Yeah I have the setup right now for Nvidia. I looked at the Abit IP35, but he wants the option to go SLI with ease. So just getting and SLI board. As for the 750i I will roll with that one until we see the benchmarks for the Ati cards. I appreciate all the input and help!

That case is way sicker than the other. It is about 70 more, but we have money to play with upto 1500 so :) thx.
