Is this a good hard drive to use?

I'm going to try to build a computer for the first time. I have a Western Digital enhanced IDE hard drive 40.0 GB. Is this good to use?

40gigs is way too low man.

Though it will work on modern computer,but it will fill in no time.

Get at least a 320GB HD.
500GB and up is ideal.

Technically it will work, but as others have pointed out....
It's old.
It's very, very slow.
It's very, very, very small.
Would be a serious handicap to ANY modern system.

If you need a simple linux server it may be more than enough (it's very slow) but hey everything depends on your needs.

Well you can use it as secondary drive.I use a seagate 40GB as secondary HD just to hold data.
For anything else its just too slow.
