Hi again folks,

I need some help here with setting my RAM, I have played a bit around in the bios but I am not sure enough to go any further. Ok here goes,

I bought 4 x 2 gig of G skill memory, they are DDR-2 1000 and timing are 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1 V. They are installed and presently running, I haven't mem test them yet. In the bios I left the RAM control to auto and the timing matches. I have increased the RAM voltage by + 0.2 so it matches the specs.

When running CPU-Z it recognizes everything but says that I am running DDR-2 6400 memory modules which would corresponds to DDR2-800. What are the settings I should be playing with in order to get this running at DDR2-1000 while being at peak efficiency.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the right tab to look at:

Is your specs in sig? Is it overclocked?

Ya that's the screen I was looking but finally I found what I was looking for and could adjust the RAM properly. It now runs at DDR2-1000 by memtest and CPUZ readings. No it's not OC'ed. I had it OC'ed to 3.6 stable for a while but finally didn't keep it there.

Since the DDR2 voltage standard is 1.8V, double-check to make sure your +0.2V didn't end up being 2.0V instead of the desired 2.1V.

True that, for some reason I had in mind that it was 1.9 volt but anyways, I memtest it at 2.0 volts and everything passed. In fact the recommended voltage for those sticks is 2.0-2.1. I'll let it be for the moment and can always up the voltage again if stability becomes an issue. Anyways, thank you for having pointed that out, proves that you're an attentive reader.
