Hey guys I need some serious help! So today I started to assemble the hardware I just ordered. This is the second desktop I've built and I feel like I've connected everything properly and everything, but when I press the power button....nothing happens. No fans, no LEDs, no power supply, nothing. Can anyone offer suggestions on what I should do now? I've tried moving the positions of the case wires (power switch, reset) thinking I may have had them connected wrong but still, nothing.

Here is the setup:
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5
GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L
EVGA 512-P3-N861-AR GeForce 9600 GT 512MB
CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner

Can someone please give some advise on what this could be?

Is the 4/8 pin 12v ATX CPU power connected?
Try with on stick of ram and reset the cmos.
If it boots with one stick it will need more voltage for both.
Did you use standoffs in the case?
Lastly try it outside case on cardboaerd.

Just to clarify what roadrunner said...

Standoffs are the brass things that screw down into the case and allows your MOBO to stay off the metal of the case and it also has a portion for you to screw into to secure the mobo.

CMOS can be reset either by pulling out the small battery on the board or using the jumper which should be listed in the mobo manual. I dont know much about your mobo, but I am assuming it has at least one of the two.

Yeah the bottom of your motherboard should not be touching the case. The standoffs need to be there. Might have killed your mobo .

Oh, God...I hope not. I just installed the standoff pieces.

So it seems this was the solution to my problem. Remember, kids, don't forget your standoff screws. I think my mobo is fine (knock on wood), I'm installing Windows now.
