Upgrade vista to 7 from boot

Hello,
I just replaced a bad motherboard and the new one I just installed does not support Vista. When Windows starts I get the blue screen. How can I upgrade Vista 64bit to 7 64bit without being able to boot up?

I'm thinking of doing a full windows 7 install on my D drive so I can get the system to boot up and then trying to upgrade Vista on my C drive to windows 7 and then deleting the windows 7 on the D drive.
