i have a celeron 352 3.2 ghz cpu, 1gb ram, and i want to put an 8800gs in it. Mind you though, i only play at 10x7 on a 15 inch lcd. i like to play games like wow, tf2, and am gonna buy spore when it comes out. soooooo..... what do you think the performance would b e like? would it be worth it to put in another gig of ram, it would be around 50 dollars?

i wouldn't think another gig of ram would help all that much unless you have vista. ur prolly gonna be bottlenecked by ur cpu first. save ur money or invest a little more and get a new cpu.

OR - Invest in a decent air cooler and OC your cpu. That will give you a much wider neck to your bottle ;). You should definitely be able to run all those games, you may just have to knock down the eye candy a bit.

Get the extra 1GB of memory, it will help with loading times, and should cut out any stuttering. However, I predict Spore will run poorly on a CPU of that caliber. If you can afford it, the E7200 is a fantastic chip at a good price, if it works in your motherboard, and with an E7200, 2GB of memory would be a huge improvement from what your running now.

Well, I would go for that extra GB personally because newer programs can make use of it (Windows feels much smoother anyway). That celeron should be able to get way past 4GHz, that's what they're made for, right? :p

If you have a good motherboard, I'd say you can invest money into an air cooler. If not, then just start saving up for a newer system.

I would suggest getting a new CPU...they are relatively cheap now days. I have my E6600 which stock is 2.4 and it is OC'd to 3.2 running cool calm and collected.
