Hey guys. I've finally decided to buy upgrades and have decided on the E8400 with ATI's 4870. However, I'm clueless on the motherboard and memory choices. I was wondering what is a solid motherboard out there for e8400. I'll be using this mainly for gaming. I'm not a big OC'er but I'd like one that would let me OC for the future.

As far as RAM, I was looking at the G.Skill DDR2 800. Is that a solid RAM for gaming?

I appreciate any help I can get out there. Thanks!

So I would suggest an X38/X48 or even P45 mobo ( the PCIe 2.0 x8 hit is small) and faster (DDR2 PC8500) ram if you want to the highest OC on that e8400. The biggest boost in gaming will come from an increase in CPU/FSB mhz not ram.
