Hi,

I have a first generation XPS that takes 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM PC3200 ...I want to upgrade it to 2GB, it is hard to find SO-DIMM PC3200 DDR also they seem to be expensive when compared to DDR2. I saw a deal in for crucial 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM $39 for 2 * 1GB sticks, will this be compatable in my XPS which normally takes PC3200 DDR memory?

no DDR and DDR2 are not compatible

you can use a memory compatibility guide on any manufacturers website or (newegg) to determine what your system can handle
