Don't worry about HDD. You should really take a look at Solid State Drives... real bang for the bucks.

Yes. This should be an awesome QUAD FX setup. Do you think the Huntkey 450W power supply I ordered with it will be enough to keep it all powered up reliably?

I compromised! I ordered two FX 72s and I will overclock them to the 3GHZ of the FX 74. This setup should destroy anything else out there.

Well fine then. I'll get the 2000W power supply if you think that is best. I'd hate to run out of power and have an unstable system.

A sweet system like that would really fly for when you are encoding any home movies. but I do think you should go with at least 3gb of ram....just buy another stick and put it in.

That mobo requires registered ECC DDR2 667/533

Opty 2220's would be much cheaper.

A Tyan or SuperMicro workstation motherboard for 2xvideo cards OR

the new 790fx with sb750 and a Phenom 9950 might be a better option.

I agree completely. FX is clearly superior to Black Edition. Plus there is the clock speed of 3GHZ vs 2.6GHZ. With the QUAD FX there are two CPUs so a total of 6GHZ. The choice in the matter is clear.
