Just give em' a day or so. Toms might be putting together a more in depth 4850 review. Those that are out right now were rushed, since ATI dropped the NDA early.
Just because Toms is a little overly excited about CUDA, doesn't mean they're in Nvidia's pocket. It just might seem that way, since with ATI there is less to talk about without rushing a bad review (we already have plenty of those).
Edit: Custom, the cards are out. Check out newegg. They have a number of the 4850s available. I saw at least 6 of them for $199, with another ~$8 in shipping.

Toms always seems a little slower than the other websites but their reviews tend to be so much better and in depth. Thats why I keep cuming back.
I don't think Tom's is being bias. They are probably also trying to review the 4850 and the 4870 at the same time. There are no reviews out of the 4870 that ive seen yet.
Hey guys, I'm not a fanboy at all. My current (old) card is Nvidia...I just want the best bang for the buck.
But you guys have to be kidding yourselves if you think it's not a coincidence that Tom's has 3 headlining Nvidia articles (one mentioning the 9800GTX+) as ATi's best card in 2 years debuts that's been on sale at Newegg since the reviews popped up on the web (and hardware sites don't buy their headlining review cards from vendors, they're given by to them by Nvidia/ATi).

First, these "reviews" weve all seen arent reviews. Theyre previews. The previews are limited in what can be shown. The full review will be shown here, as well as every other site. What Id watch for is sites that dont do the full review on the 25th. Theyre much more likely to be "bought". Im sure a decision was made to wait. NDA'a have meaning, legal meaning. All Toms is trying to do is keep within that, and, when the time is right, give a quality review , which Im sure theu will. I like ATI too, and yes Im disappointed, but I respect Toms situation

I find tom's to be more than fair re the amd/ati situation(s). It's about accurate information (why we are here) and the previews have been clearly labelled as such.
Different technologies, different price ranges, interesting comparisons, great testing and benchmarks, insightful comments. It's all about accurate info so that you can move forward with your own interests.
BUT - I do share the feeling re comments about proofreading and typo-errors. These can be misleading and muddy the waters.
Tek is a huge arena - and it's all here. I have been trying to send my buddeez here for many moons. And there's others like Anand and 3dguru and even mobo.org, etc etc.
I think this preview stuff is ATI's way of preventing Nvidia from messing up the new-tek-release parade - which I question ethically - marketing is marketing, business is business - but when they resort to stomping on others, I look CLOSER at the others, and make my own decisions, based on tom's reports
@ Fulle and lyall,
Don't make me laugh we had this before with the 2 series cards they even printed an editorial about how they were waiting as you say to do a more in depth article. When it finally got here everyone already knew what there was to know and duly started taking the "In depth review" apart for its inaccuracies and poor standard.
I'm sorry to have to knock toms they have done some great reviews in the past but they do seem to be behind the curve as far as ATI cards go.
I think that they probably don't get sent ATI cards but do get sent Nvidia cards.
@ ovaltineplease,
Why does it seem that every thread you post in lately has to come down to "fanboyism" ? I have seen you post some really intelligent stuff. Calling everyone that looks to be favouring ATI a "fanboy" isn't helpful to the threads and just makes you sound ignorant.
Mactronix
every single article i've read lately has an error in it... EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE
I'm tired of their mistakes... i love toms but seriously... they don't even spell check... they spelled keynote as keynore.... like honestly... they are paid to make these mistakes... its ridiculous
Yeah, I agree with Jaydee on that. Anandtech made it clear that they can't expose the architecture until this coming week. Perhaps Toms is waiting as well so they can do one complete article.
There was a comment out there about rushed reviews? Umm...not really, they have had these cards in hand for a while. Tweaktown did their testing before the 280.
Against Toms...I can't help but think that if this was the 280/260 launch instead, they would have posted benchmarks at the least like the other sites.
Seeing all of these reference designs out I find it weird that nothing else is available...are they not allowed to sell non-reference cards as part of the pseudo NDA that sill exists?
