:pfff: ..hi..i m building a pc and i got this..
asus p5k-vm
q6600 kentsfield
ocz 2X 1gb
maxtor 160 gb

now im gonna add a cooler..probably
asus silent squre or the pro
xfx 8800 gt 256

what kinda power do i really need..
will a thermaltek 500 watt be enough??
or i need more..or should i go for toughpower 500 watt..cant make up my mind cuz my budget is really tight..please help+ i also want to over clock..im gonna use it for video..photo and 3d works

500w will be more than sufficient..look at the corsair PSUs

oh don't get the 8800GT 256mb... get the 8800GS instead...performs much better for the same price.

You don't need more than 450W for that build...get the Corsair 450VX.

Are you sure you do not have :
another HDD
Drives
Sound card or any other card
Cooling fans
Get 550W and you'll be a little bit on safe side
But remember do not ever add another graphic card to your setup

i would also say go with the corsaire 450vx or antec earthwatts 430
