Not too sure on what is the quietist but i would advise not to skimp money wise on the power supply. generally stable psu's are expensive psu's.

As they say, you get what you pay for. What watt PSU are looking for? I think the cooler master PSU's are good.

I have the Corsair VX450W in my PC. The PC is hooked up to my HD tele in the living room. So it had to be quiet. So far I've been really impressed with it. I can only hear it if I put my ear above the case.

Hey thanks ducker, I've had that exact same psu 'eartagged' for my build... seen as a big part of my pc use will be outputting to my hdtv & quietly I think your comment has clenched it! I definatley don't want to skimp on the psu re: heard stories of frying mobo's etc + I'm new at this and can't push/ risk things I dont know about, all I know is corsair is solid and 450w should be more than ample so if its quiet too I say F it, i'm sick of thinking about $ and cents anyway, i'm going with corsair 450w (it's only $45 more than a gigabtye 430w too)
