Hey guys!

I have a (seemingly) simple question about whether a new motherboard is capable of fitting an old (I got it in 2003) Alienware ATX Tower case.

Here's the Motherboard i'm thinking about purchasing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188024&Tpk=EVGA%2b132-CK-NF78-A1%2bLGA%2b775%2bNVIDIA%2bnForce%2b780i

I wasn't really sure myself, so I went and checked the literature that came with my ASUS P4PE motherboard, which stated its measurements at 12.0" x 9.0" The problem is that the new motherboard that I linked is measured at 12.0"x 9.6".

So what do you think? Is this a completely different size entirely and will it require me to add a case to my list of needed upgrades?

Thanks for reading!

12x9.6 is standard ATX. your 12x9 is slightly undersized (not uncommon)

I cant think that alien would build a custom case just to make it 1/2" shorter for just on of many different mobos they've offered in that same chassis

youre safe
