No signal using vga cable from pc to tv

I connected a vga cable to a Vizio flat screen, but the only time I can get any display is when I power up from the start, Toshiba page and their data will display , but when log on page appears I have no signal to tv. thanks Happy Hoilday and New Year

lol happy new year
i dont know much about connection to a television
i would just contact visio about it
they know their tvs well
maybe you need to tinker with te toshiba page and their data display
could be something there
maybe the resolution is set too high for your pc to support
