Old Style DOS filenames

Going through some backup CDs I fouind one where about half of the filenams are literally in the form of ?????_name.jpg There are also two directories one with the 5 of the ? characters in it.

Is there anyway I can change those names to access the files? Is there a utility to allow me to change those names at the disk or file level.

Sure right click the file and select rename. If you an't open, right lick and hek the properties. Windows normally won't let you use ?? in file names. Be carefull could be a virus. Or may have just been bad files that were recovered in the past.
