I have a Compaq Presario 2104us notebook and was only running 256megs of shared memory. I decided to upgrade a little and bought a 512meg p2700 wintec stick. AMPO 33amd1333N-512M-R. The 256meg chip is also a P2700. When I installed the new chip with the old also in place laptop just keeps powering up and shutting down, I had to pull battery to stop it. Wintec replaced chip and now it doesnt shutdown but chip is not recognized by xp or in bios. I took my old chip out and it started shutting down again. I have tried installing in both slots and it makes no difference. Has anyone ever had same problem with Wintec?
I have Wintec memory for desktop 4 gigs DDR. I did run memtest when I got them and they were fine. I did not mix and match stuff though. I even got a mild overclock with them. run memtest with each stick seperately.
