Im just a little nervous about running a 64bit OS. I read some forums a couple months ago saying that Linksys routers / network cards do not support 64 bit OS. I live in a 2 story house and running a wire down stairs to hook up to the router is not possible so i have to use wireless. Im trying to keep the PC under $1100. Does eveything look good?

^... What are you going to use the PC for? Mostly gaming....or vid editing...or animation? I could advice you accordingly to reduce your expenditure.

MSI WEBSITE = EPIC FAIL!!!

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P6N_Diamond&class=mb

Click cpu support, no you don't a list of supported cpu's for the board, instead, you're on the global site. Go back to product page & click download. Wow! Can MSI web programmers be lazier? I'd fire the entire dept on the spot right now! A 10 years old can export a bunch of Word docs to HTML. User interface is alien to MSI. And they're wondering why they're never #1. LOL. *rant ends*

You have to make sure the cpu is supported by the board. My guess is it doesn't. Only 750/780/790i does Yorkfields officially.

Routers per se have nothing to do with OS. If you mean accessing the Web setup, any program like Firefox can access it. NICs may have something to do with OS. Namely, driver support. Look at their manufacturer's site for 64bit drivers. I'd say most of the big names have driver support for 64bit.

I really suggest you stick to an Intel motherboard (X38 or X48). If you desperately need SLI, the only mobo I recommend would be the 790i, but I don;t know how much your budget is (DDR3 RAM is really expensive). In addition, I would suggest getting an e8400 because it will be much more useful for gaming. Other than that everything looks fine except I would suggest a better case. Maybe an Antec 900, Thermaltake Armor+, or some of the moderately priced Silverstone and Lian-Li cases.

With the next generation of video cards just a week or 2 away from coming out (or at least reliable benchmarks) I'd really hold off on the system since it could have a huge effect on motherboard choice (X38/48/45 or 780/ 790 )With the GTX280 estimated to draw 236w of power at load and the GTX260 182w or 4870 157w it will also have an effect on choice of PSUs if you want to SLI or Xfire them. Yeah waiting sucks, but the cards are so close to coming out.

I think I agree with dirtmountain. If you can wait another week or two, you might be able to make better choices, or at least not suddenly get cause to regret your choices.
I've used a couple of Mushkin PSUs (the model below that one). It's on tier-T, so it should be good, but their "rail-fusion" looks gimmicky. It claims to have 4 20A rails, but the max combined is only 38A. I'd be bothered by that, in fact on my last build I switched to a 500W Enermax Liberty PSU. Also, the SATA cables for the Mushkin all have four connectors on them, and a decent length between them. That's not a problem if you're going to run a few drives, but with just one will create a jumble that sort of defeats the purpose of modular cables. I suppose you could carefully clip the excess off and insulate the ends...
I really like Mushkin RAM. I've never had the first taint of grief out of any of it that I've bought.
As to the wireless card, get one that specifically claims to be compatible with 64-bit Vista, and verify it by reading review comments or asking on the forumz. Be aware that nearby 2.4GHz cordless phones may drop some wireless "B" router signals when they go off. I had that problem, so I waited for a 5.8GHz wireless phone to show up on woot.com, and that problem was solved.

Im wont be ordering the computer until the end of the month. If the new video cards are better then the 8800 GT and around $200 i might switch. But im not going to buy the brand new top of the line video cards.

I think you should get a placeholder card like 9600GT OEM for cheap. Was ~$100 after rebate. SLI is nice, but it doesn't support all games. The E8400 3Ghz will be noticeable in most everything. Yup, I think you should keep the CM690 as no other case in this price range offers the same ventilation.

Everything looks great Muirin, I would also suggest however, that you wait for the new generation of cards coming out mate.
