Wants a 192 - 256 GB SSD (or larger), that does 144 MB/sec reads and writes, with ‘good’ I/O on 512 to 4096 byte blocks.

Why: It’s larger than the Hitachi 200 GB HDD I’ve got now (7200 rpm).

Must be in a 2.5” form factor as has to work on Apple MacBook Pro 15”.

Reminder: Does not need to really use SATA 3.0 Gbps, as only looking for 144 MB/sec reads & writes.

Ideally the 'seek' time will be under one quarter of a millisecond.

I'm also seeking recommendations on USB thumbdrive media for both ReadyBoost and Document Service Pack use (Work in IT).

The only SSD significantly larger than 200GB I know of is Super Talent's 512GB SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820609415

It promises 230MB/s read, and 160MB/s write, so it meets your needs. Problem is that it costs nearly $1500.
