Ok so i just wanted anybody's opinion on this machine that i'm building. feel free to critique : ).

First, My budget is $700, i alrdy have a 22" lcd and kb + mouse. so this is purely for the system.

I would like it to be moderately upgradeable but i don't think i'll be running Crossfire.

I'll be getting some of the pieces from other websites so right now i totaled that at about $680.

Any thoughts as to how it will run? Its mainly for LAN, i play TF2, HL2, CSS, COD4, UT3, UT2k4, and some other random ones. What do you think?

A few comments:
1. You can very easily go with a much smaller power supply. 650 watts would be great if you had a pair of HD 4870s and a Phenom X4 running at 3.0 GHz rather than a single HD 4850 and an X2 4400+. I'd shoot for about a 400-watt PSU in that system. You can always check the PSU calculators but 400 W should be good enough.

2. The X2 4400+ is dirt cheap but isn't exactly a very fast CPU today and will be the limiting factor in your system's gaming performance. I noticed the aftermarket heatsink, so are you planning to overclock? If you are, pick the X2 5000+ Black Edition instead as it's not that much more expensive and has an unlocked multiplier (which makes OCing much easier.) Or you could go with the X2 5800+, which is stock at 3.0 GHz and not all that expensive. The faster Phenoms would work decently too, but most of those games you list are at best 2-threaded games and the Phenom will not give you much of a boost over a similarly-priced X2 but do throw off more heat. The 125-watt Phenoms also do not play nice with some 780G boards due to the 780G units being designed for low-TDP X2s for office PCs and HTPCs rather than a top-line chip.

Thank you for the reply. I was thinking about getting a lower wattage earth watt from Antec, but then i found the PSU for only $80 and figured it would be better if i did upgrade. I do intend to overclock the 4400+, its the second one of owned, so i know i can push it to about 3.2 . Is the Black edition worth the extra money? Any reports on how well this board OCs? Thank you again! :)
