HP DV7-1260us Display & Hard Drive Issue

I have a laptop and the screen is pure black and all my lights come on and it appears my hard drive light doesnt have any activity. i swapped hard drives and nothing. what else could it be?

Could be a faulty motherboard, in which case a new motherboard is required.
