hey all, i recently oc my intel e6300 from 1,86ghz to 2,6 and im using a thermaltake big typhoon 120 cooler. My problem is that speedfan 4,37 shows my cpu temperature is 68c but i downloaded another program called real temp that shows my cpu temperature is 34-35.Could speedfan be wrong on temp measurment?because i've set the auto fan speed from the program and it says it goes up to 1440 rpm which is wrong cause my fan reaches 1300 rpm

infernogr,

Your E6300 has 3 temperature sensors; a single Analog Thermal Diode on the substrate between the Cores which monitors CPU temperature, and two more sensors called Digital Thermal Sensor (DTS) on each Core, which monitor each individual Core temperature.

Real Temp monitors Core temperatures ONLY, while SpeedFan monitors CPU temperature AND Core temperatures. The latest version of SpeedFan is 4.38 - http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

For detailed information on how temperatures work, and to learn how to accurately calibrate your temperatures, check out the Core i7 and Core 2 Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/221745-29-core-core-temperature-guide
