I go to a college and the tech services is stupid and makes everyone use wireless networking with nowhere to connect to the internet via ethernet... anyways i recently reformatted my hard drive and have successfully reinstalled windows xp. To connect to the internet I have a linksys WUSB54G with SpeedBooster. I downloaded the driver for this on another computer, installed it, and nothing happens. In the device manager, It shows that the network adapter is plugged in.

Any Suggestions?

You need to download the driver for the NIC in your computer not for the router. Routers dont need drivers.

This isnt a router that I'm connected to. The WUSB is a USB network adapter, and doesnt connect to the NIC.

do you have the wireless zero configuration service running?
check run>services.msc

im assuming you've tried using different usb sockets, and does anything light up on the stick itself?

Reply to montyuk

Yah i've tried all that, nothing lights up on the stick itself though...

well i found a solution, vista has internet sharing capabilities, and i have a legit copy of that, so what i did was take away xp, install vista, and just share the internet from my laptop's ethernet port. vista sucks, but at least now it works...thanks for all the help
