4670 scanjet instal to window vista

When attempting to install the 4670 scan jet I get a message " connection failed, check connection" I did install the scanner to another computer where it worked. based on that I don't believe that I have a faulty wiring. My computer is a HP pavilion with Window vista 64 bit. My question. Is my computer or the window vista not compatible with the 4670 scan jet. Do I need some special driver to make the scanner and computer work together. Please inform me what I need to do
