With that amount of airflow it's going to be loud no matter what the specs say. On the desk it can be as silent as they claim but once mounted inside a case the "obstructions" inside the case will make it noisier.

I use Scythe S-Flex SFF21F (1600rpm model) in my Stacker case and at 1200rpm they are inaudiable. Above 1400 they are still very silent but the airflow isn't inaudiable.
It's rated at 28.0dBA, 63.7CFM, 0.20A @ 1600rpm.

I have nothing witty to say.

I don't believe those claims either, they're too good.

Check out this other Enermax fan, it claims 1 dBA. Seriously, just 1.

Compare with SFF21E, also at 1200 rpm, with only 49 cfm (instead of 53), claiming 20 dBA. Incidentally, I use SFF21E myself. These numbers I do believe.

I think somebody in Enermax marketing is smoking weed. :)

Noticed the (MAX) figure next to Flow and Pressure?? Also there is no notice next to Noise. So the MAX figures might have been taken while at 1700RPM and 28dB noise, while the 18dB noise figure was obtained at 1200RPM and 40CFM.
Why do you think there is no notice next to Noise?
They are not lying, they are just not telling the whole truth!
That is called "Marketing".
