just did a clean install of XP Pro on a computer. I am using a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor.

After installation of XP, I've had no problems. When I installed Nvidia's drivers, it correctly identified my graphics card, installed the drivers, and restarted the computer...only to put the graphics on the absolute lowest level possible. Absolute junk. I reverted back to XP's driver andit was fine, but slow. Any ideas?

Here's my specs:

Manufactuerer: HP
o Model: m8020n
o Processor Intel Core 2 CPU 6420 @2.13 GHZ 2.13 GHZ
o Memory (Ram) 2.00 GB
o System type: 32 bit-operating system
--Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT

What do you mean by "graphics on the absolute lowest level possible"? Did you go into the display settings and try adjusting them?

First off, install the chipset driver, in this case, Intel.
Then slap forceware on it.

It "should" be okay. Although i hate rigs from makers. The only things i wanted was the casing. Really. But those buggars wont sell them.

LOL, I second Robarino's question, on a fresh install like that it will revert to its most basic settings after the driver install, so you will need to turn the settings back up.
