$110 Motherboard: ASUS P5K PRO ATX Intel Motherboard
$90 Power Supply: OCZ GameXStream 700W Power Supply
$132 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz LGA 775 65W Processor
$180 Video Card: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT
Grand Total: $746

Currently have:
Lite-on DVD drive
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard
Logitech G5 mouse
Dell 20" Widescreen Monitor
Soundblasted X-fi Soundcard

My thoughts:
Case has nice fans, including the 200mm on top.
HD has large capacity, 16mb memory, good brand.
Mem is 4GB instead of 2, low Cas, good brand.
MB is Asus, SLi ready, and not uATX.
PS is 700W, decent brand, on sale.
CPU is best bang for buck, on sale.
Vid is good brand, I could go for two if needed for Conan.

Your thoughts?

Where did you get that the P5K is SLI-ready???

Get a P5N-D if you want the ability to add a second 8800GT later in SLI. Your 700W GameXStream and the Antec 900 are good for that already.

Apart from that, all good.

Get an E8400 if you can stretch the budget a bit. If you can also afford a HDT-S1283 cooler for overclocking that would be even better.

1) Yesterday someone posted a link to newegg for a $200 8800 GTS OC (g92) - look for that.

2) try to get a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 HDD

3) A 550W Power supply will be sufficient

4) If at all possible, i know tight budget but it be worth going $50 over... try to get e8400

Ive been playing Conan on a Q6600 @ 3GHZ, 8800GTX, 24" monitor (see profile)... I run everything on high and 1900x1200 usually around 35FPS.

You will want a 8400 and GTS to run it good.

Unless your gonna use the step-up to get one of the new GTX260/280 cards, I would go with the MSI GTS linked above for $40 less, maybe spend that extra $40 towards an 8400?

The game really is a pig.... I was shocked to see my FPS. To be honest i think Lord of the rings online (lotro) looks far better then AoC too
