Uprgrading to E8400 what about my O/S?

Tuesday I will be upgrading my rig from E6400 to E8400 on my MSI P7N Zilent MoBo.
I am on a Vista 64 O/S.
Do I need to reinstall my O/S after the upgrade or can I just exchange the CPU's and run it?
Who knows?

It's no different than changing clock speeds. Same HAL, same drivers, etc.

So no you do not need to do anything with the OS.

Far as I know you'd have no problem. Biggest conflict with Windows XP & newer is the motherboard FAIK.

Everything, you've read in this thread is indeed correct. Its a simple swap. You're not going from a single processor hal to a dual processor hal. If you decide to upgrade to a current quad it'll be the same thing. ...just a processor swap.
