Looks pretty solid to me.....although I'm sure someone else might recommend another MoBo.

You're onboard sound should be fine. I'd hold off on the sound card.

Just a reminder you'll need Vista 64-bit if you want to see all 4gb.

AFAIK there are 32 bit and 64 bit versions.

I recommend waiting on the video card. The 4850 and 4870 are both suppose to achieve better performance than the 9800 GTX, for alot less, and are due out within the month. The new nvidia card (GT280) is also suppose to deliver better performance, abliet at a higher price.

At the very least these launches will cause a drastic price "re-adjustment" of the 9800 GTX.

Just a quick edit, if your interested
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ntec%2b900
for $129, the airflow would allow you to overclock that sweet CPU of yours, on air, pretty well.
Of course if its going to be in your bedroom/other living area the LEDs can get annoying.

i hear mid june for gt280 as for vista, yes home premium is better suited for school work etc ultimate only has a couple extras, like fax support

Looks good, except you might want to wait until the new GPU's come out in a couple weeks instead of spending that much on a 9800 series GPU.

Also, get this CPU cooler instead:
